Environment Management

The complex environmental challenges facing the war torn Iraq have emphasized the dire need for a pool of trained and dedicated professionals who can contribute to the development of policies, measures and programmes for environmental management and an educated public who have the knowledge and skills to participate in solving these problems.

Environment ManagementEnvironmental education is also relevant because it helps to ensure the health and welfare of Iraqis by protecting human health; advancing quality education; expanding employment opportunities; promoting sustainable development; best practices and practical uses of technology; applying the latest scientific data, information and practices to Iraqi issues and places; and protecting the country’s natural heritage.

Among the major environmental issues are water resources and water quality, air quality, biodiversity, chemical pollution and radiation. In our continuous efforts to be active participants in the rebuilding of Iraq, we realized the importance of teaming up with our strategic partners to facilitate training in the following areas:

  • Regional Environmental And Resource Planning

  • Air Pollution Control In Urban Areas

  • Solid Waste Management

  • Renewable Energy

  • Environment Management Systems (EMS)

  • EMS Implementation

  • Environmental GIS

  • GIS Software

  • Understanding Geographic Data

  • Understanding Map Projections and Coordinate Systems
